Originally I'm from Hawaii and was living in Minnesota (Still regretting getting drunk on the beach, remembering something about some guy coming up to me and saying "Hey, want a job? then waking up in Minnesota... just kidding). As of September of 2010, I ended up moving to Colorado and am now living in Colorado Springs, currently going to Tech school to earn my degree and get industry certificates for computers. As of March of 2011, I've earned my Dell certificate as a DCSE (Dell Certified Systems Expert). I had moved to Minnesota in 1995 because of the job outlook in Hawaii, I used to be a computer consultant, mostly working setting up small business networks but with my main business in consulting, selling and setting up desktop music workstations for the masses, I brought my computer up with me, basically I used to write music on my machine, but with my current job, I can't seem to find the time. My first real computer (a 386DX 33, but truly first computer was a 8088) I had installed 4 sound cards, a PAS 16 pro, a Roland SCC-1A, A MultiSound Classic and a Maui sound card with 2 Megs of RAM while running with Windows for Workgroup 3.11. As my computer progressed I had to leave out a sound card, the P60 (my first Pentium) I had all of the above mentioned cards except the Roland (which I was very disappointed). Currently I have a PentiumIV, 2.53 GHz CPU on a BioStar P4TDK motherboard using an Intel chipset, 1 Maxtor 40 gigabyte Ultra DMA hard drive and 1 Maxtor 80 gigabyte Ultra DMA hard drive, 1 gig (2 x 512 mb) of PC 2100 266 MHz DDR memory, 1 Liteon DVD 5X, DVD/CD-ROM drive and a Buslink 24x10x40x- CD-RW (24X read,10X write, 40X re-writeable), a ATI Radeon Pro 128 meg video card, an ATI TV Wonder Video Capture/TV Card and I'm down to 1 sound card, instead of the PAS 16, I got a SoundBlaster Live! Platinum with the Live! drive with the Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500, 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound Speakers running in Windows XP Pro, with a NTFS partition. For my music writing software I use Cakewalk Home Studio 9.0 in Windows XP Pro and for now wouldn't use anything else, tried Master Tracks Pro 3.0 and Encore but didn't find them as versatile. I have Cakewalk Home Studio 9.0, NTrack Studio and Soundforge 6.0, I hope to have some of our work up for all to hear, so keep checking back. I had built a Windows 2000 Pro Server with an 40 gig Maxtor drive, using the 933 MHz PIII chip on a Biostar M4VCT Apollo chipset motherboard. The video card installed is the Creative Labs TNT2, 32 meg video card with 1 gig of Micron OEM memory and a Linksys 10/100 Lan card. Prior, I had Windows 2000 Pro Advance Server with Exchange 2000 and SQL 2000 loaded but ended up selling the hardware and installing Windows XP Pro. The really great feature of the SoundBlaster Live! Platinum sound card with the Live! Drive is that some of the most commonly used plug-ins are now in the front courtesy of the Live! Drive, like the Headset output, Microphone, MIDI in / out and the SPDIF Input and output. The Headset output is a full size stereo jack so that you can use regular headsets instead of the walkman type plug and headsets, for the Microphone, this too is also a full size input jack so that you can use better microphones instead of the ones that you would normally buy for the computer. With the way technology quickly moves, I've upgraded my computer, yet again... I also installed a Kodak DVC 325 USB Camera and a HP 3200 cse scanner so I'll be working on a webcam page and scans of pictures of my cat, Samantha, although I picked her (actually, she picked me) at the Humane Society here in Minnesota, they just described her as a Domestic shorthair, but I think she is part Burmese because she always likes to sleep on my lap or close enough to be "In Touch", she's almost all black except for a white tuft of hair on her stomach. I gave her that name because she was black and reminded me of a witches cat, and what popped into my mind was "Bewitched", the lead characters name. So keep checking back and I'll have a page up just for her. I had Windows 95, OSR1 and NT 4.0, but due to something corrupting my FAT I had to start all over again. I also have a U.S. Robotics 56K Voice fax modem. If you want to install more than 1 or 2 sound cards in your system or are a first time MIDI user, e-mail me or if you have some problems with Windows 95/98, I can help (or try) and now I've installed Windows 98, which seems a bit buggy and have run into some problems but other than that, seems to run ok... I'm currently working on a Hiroshima Fan Club Page. Oh and by the way, My cat, Samantha sends her greetings to all of you. Keep checking back to see what's going on, I also hope to get it official as soon as I can write to them. So until then keep checking back and hopefully you'll see something different. I have a Links Page and if you want to be added, E-Mail me with the URL of your web page. Check it out! If you want to see what I look like (old pictures from my days as a DJ) and or see what kind of hobbies I'm into, click on the icon below and it will take you there. |
